LCD Soundsystem - 45:33 Remixes

DFA finally released the 45:33, mysterious remix package! For me 45:33 was LCD Soundsystem’s finest work, in particular i loved part 1 and 2. This album is a brand new collection of remixes of the classic LCD Soundsystem musical epic 45:33. One of the most unique pieces of modern dance music you will ever hear, 45:33 was originally a one off collaboration on iTunes for Nike, but was subsequently released in its own right in Nov ’07 due to overwhelming demand. more: [residentadvisor]

Best Movie Insult

one of our favorite insult
Billy Madison (1995)

“Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

The first DJ Battle

Major Lazer iPhone app

Photobucket

Diplo
and Switch (Major Lazer) have made a deal with software developer iZotope to create iDrum: Major Lazer, a remix app that lets toy with Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do, so you can either destroy the tracks or make your own digital bad ass remix of the ages. The app includes 10 customizable kits, remixable rhythmic patterns, and tons of those great lazer synths we all know and love. I don’t even have an iPhone, but I can’t wait to download this on someone elses and then steal it from them.

Of course for those of you who don’t know, Mad Decent does have an air horn app for the iPhone, which is already out and has already made the electronica masses swoon even more for Major Lazer and Mad Decent. Check it out at the link below.

Big fan of the first movie and the arcade.. hope the new one would be great

It's not easy being a DJ

Carl Cox shooting

Cox was headlining the event, called Red Noise, at La Rinconada Terrace in Caracas, Venezuela. The VJ reports that Cox was only 10 minutes into his set when an unknown man opened fire, the gun making a noise that sounded to him “like firecrackers”. He reports seeing 3 bodies on the floor immediately following the shooting.

Steve Angello vs Paris Hilton

Angello claims Hilton repeatedly asked him to play hip-hop. Hilton claims she only asked him to play Bob Sinclar [a] or Daft Punk.

But whatever went down, it led to a big fight. Hilton’s friend Doug Reinhardt and her entourage got a kicking for apparently slapping Steve Angello.

Steve Lawler bullied by Mexican Bouncers

Steve Lawler has vowed to never return to Guadalajara, Mexico, after being threatened by club bouncers and forced to play an extra hour after a musical dispute escalated into confrontation.

“I had played for 2 hours, and things were going fine, and then the owner of the club wanted me to play a 15 min, techno/ trance record which was about 160 bpm,” Steve said in a message posted on various news groups last week.

“So of course I refused, I knew nothing about this performance and I wasn’t about to break up what I had built musically. So they told me to play the record or get off.”

Steve’s manager, Joel Zimmerman, who was present during the incident alongside Steve’s girlfriend, continued the story in a legal letter distributed afterwards.

“My client and I were very clear to the club promoter and club staff that once Steve was off the decks, and, had played for almost 2.5 hours, that we were done and were calling it a night,” he said.

“As we walked out of the club and headed to the car, our party (Steve, his girlfriend and I) were surrounded by ten bouncers from the club and three of the acting club owners” he continued.

“The bouncers started to get physical with myself instructing me to not move and told Steve that he had to go inside immediately. We were then forced to walk back into the club escorted by the bouncers and owners. Steve went back on – still surrounded by bouncers – and played for an additional hour then quietly exited.”

“This was a very scary incident that I never want to find myself in again,” Steve added. “I’m sorry for those of you that live there, but I will never again come to Guadalajara, I will however be doing shows in other parts of Mexico, but I will never step foot into that city again. Sorry,” he added.

Christopher Lawrence vs FBI

Christopher Lawrence explaining how the entire airport was evacuated when authorities found traces of explosives on a box of music equipment that was being sent over to Australia to construct his studio in a 2003 interview

"I was interviewed by the transportation authority, bomb squad, federal security and the FBI. I think I spoke to around thirty officials in total before I was released. It wasn’t all that long ago that DJs were only stopped at customs on suspicion of carrying drugs but now they think I’m carry explosive. It’s not easy being a DJ."

There are so many other hard stuff that djs/producers/music artists have to go through. So if you think being a musician is an easy job, think again!

KAWS

Photobucket

Brian Donnelly (b. 1974) is a New York–based artist best known by the moniker KAWS, which he has used since the 1990s for both his work as a graffiti and fine artist and in branding his fiercely entrepreneurial ventures into clothing and product design
.
His signature cartoon skull and XX eyes were seen by hundreds of thousands in a hugely influential “interventionist” series when, in 1996, he began altering light-box ads on Manhattan streets.

He reputedly received a skeleton key from a fellow artist, allowing him easy access to phone booth and bus shelter advertising displays throughout the city.

Boy's Own – The Complete Fanzines 1986-92

Once known as "The Village Newspaper Of Acid House, the Boy's Own fanzine was a scurrilous, discriminating but enthusiastic outpouring of some of the finest and most influential minds of the early days of the rave explosion, including Terry Farley, Andrew Weatherall, Paul Oakenfold and others.

Now Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton of DJhistory.com have managed to piece together every page of every issue published and lovingly compiled them into a book with interviews with the original protagonists, plus a free 7" single by Weatherall & Farley's 1990 Bocca Juniors project for those who pre-order the book.

A free 44-page sample of the book can be downloaded in .pdf format to get a taster of the heady Balearic years.

Graffiti artist Banksy has pulled off an audacious stunt amid tight secrecy to stage his biggest ever exhibition.

The artist himself was involved in setting up the exhibits and came to the museum to oversee its installation, but staff were unaware who he was among the crew setting up the show.

Banksy said: “This is the first show I’ve ever done where taxpayers’ money is being used to hang my pictures up rather than scrape them off.”

The New Frontier

Tripomatica is an online venture for all Dj's, producers, fans, and even just dance music enthusiasts throughout Australia and hopefully beyond. Our concept aims to provide a platform for all that are interested in electronic music in relations with our own talents and even through mutual affiliations with talents from outside of our own management.

Founded on December 11 2006, Tripomatica now represents a fusion of leading and break through Dj's and producers.

Although considered as a fresh new community, we are striving to be excellent. To help us decide what is to be part of our early stages, we would really appreciate any ideas that you may have. We already have a plan containing many potential services but we would utimately like your opinion to help us decide.

Please participate in what will ultimately become "your community" by giving us your views.
